Kazys Boruta

Kazys Boruta (1905–1965) was a Lithuanian writer and poet. Born during the era of Czarist domination over Lithuania, his leftist leanings brought him arrest, imprisonment, exile, and a ban on his work during the period of independence between the wars. Boruta was arrested again and spent three years in prison after the Soviet takeover of Lithuania following the Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact. His work for the last ten years of his life consisted mostly of translations published under a pseudonym.
